Children in Crisis - REFORMA

REFORMA's Children in Crisis Task Force added 4 new photos.
A wonderful, informative, emotional day at UCLA yesterday for REFORMA's Children in Crisis effort!

"Central American Refugees in Detention: Rethinking U.S. Detention" was a one day workshop organized by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center. It included presentations on Legal Advocacy, Politics & Policy, The Human Dimension of Refugee's Needs and the Unfolding Litigation Landscape for Refugees currently detained.
One of the refugee mothers who participated in the hunger strikes at the detention center in Texas told her emotional story as did many other experts in this area - Academics, Community Organizers, Students, peacemakers such as Homies Unidos and many others. Below are a few photos of our presence at the event. Thanks to Charlene Villaseñor Black (photo below) and UCLA for providing us the opportunity to share our project with the attendees. Thanks also to Bredny Rodriguez (photo below) for helping staff the booth and Lettycia Terrones, President of REFORMA LA Chapter for coordinating everything. -Patrick
