ALSC announces Día Family Book Club Applications

Apply for a Día Family Book Club mini-grant!  Intended as an expansion of El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Día), the Día Family Book Club program is a reading program that engages children and families in the shared reading and discussion of contemporary children’s literature that reflects our common plurality. 

Up to 15 mini-grants will be awarded at $2,000 each to public libraries that demonstrate a need to better address diversity within their communities through Día Family Book Club programs. Telebration - Noche de Cuentos

Tellabration and/or "NOCHE DE CUENTOS" 

Saturday, November 9: 6-9 p.m.  Storycrafting:  Join other tellers for a potluck supper followed by storytelling and feedback on your story – you set the rules as to what feedback you want.  This will be a great chance to apply what we learned at the David Novak workshop on October 27th, which was stellar!  Change in venue from Elaine Muray’s home to Sarah Malone’s at 150 Sangre de Cristo, Circle, Cedar Crest.  RSVP requested.  Sarahmalone1949@gmail.com or call 505-286-8819 for directions.  Please rsvp no later than Thursday, November 7th if you plan on coming.

November 23:  3-4:30 pm: A Storytelling Feast to benefit The Santa Fe Food Depot at The Performance Space at La Tienda in El Dorado featuring Joe Hayes, Gail Mariner, Steven Pla, Mary Ellen Gonzales, and Cynthia Dobson.  Plus presentation by Sherry Hooper, Executive Director of the Food Depot.  Bring a can of food as your entrance donation to support the Santa Fe Food Depot.  Information: cynthiadobson.storytellers@gmail.com

Chili Ristras at FPL Make.Do

Showing the easy way to string ristras for those who cannot master the stringing, is easy.  Presented at the Farmington Public Library Harvest Make.Do (makerspace) on October 19.
