Cesar Chavez
Cesar
Chavez was an American farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist, who
along with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Assoc. Chavez’s
birthday is March 31st and it’s celebrated in several southwestern
states intended to honor his life and work. With a new movie breaking about
Chavez, it is a good time to be reminded of a couple older University of New
Mexico Press titles on the topics of Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and the
migrant farm worker:
CESAR
CHAVEZ AND THE COMMON SENSE OF NONVIOLENCE, by Jose-Antonio Orosco, $24.95
cloth
