"I received a call from Chicago on Sunday afternoon as I was in my way to an event. When I answered I know I spoke loud, I laughed, I cried a little bit too. Two girls turned from the front of the bus to see me; they must have wondered what was happening to me. Then I decided to film these second of me in this bus and the wonderful moment I had just been given by the Pura Belpre Award Committee as they cheered for me and told me that my book Viva Frida, had won the medal."
