Espooky Mercado at National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque

NHCC’s 2nd Annual Espooky Mercado featuring unique and frightful offerings from local vendors. This pop-up gives visitors the chance to indulge their macabre side with supernatural goods of all varieties.
Espooky Mercado Vendor Submission:
National Hispanic Cultural Center will be hosting Espooky Mercado in collaboration with Dark Red Film Festival on October 25th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. We are looking for vendors who can sell Halloween specific merchandise! We are looking for vendors whose items or artworks align with the spookiness of the season. If your work could be considered spooky, uncanny, macabre, a little dark, supernatural, harvest, fall or Halloween-inspired, this mercado is for you.

Dia de Los Muertos Block Party

Inspired Moments, REFORMA de Nuevo Mexico and NWNMAC 1st annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration 📣 this amazing event is taking place Friday November 1st!

Here is a little information. Community Ofrenda
this is already taking place, we are accepting photos, there is a mailbox outside our front door where u can leave your photos, we will hang them up and honor your passed loved ones with the upmost love and respect on our community ofrenda!

Block party: this is a free event to the public, we will have costume contests, face painters, kids activities, lowriders, dancers, live music, vendors, and the movie Acequias playing at the Torah theatre at 6pm. We are still looking for performers, story tellers, dancers, etc!!!!

Vendors: this is a free event we are not charging a booth fee it will be just a come and set up event.

Vendors are responsible for their space needs, (tables, canopies, power etc) vendors will be set up along the sidewalk only between the block of Berhend, and Locke. I will still need to know your planning on coming so please please make sure you sign up by simply txting me, I will send out a mass txt of set up time information and schematics of where your allowed to set up with out interference of the lowriders, stage, etc!

Summer Reading - RNM in Hatch New Mexico

Adventure Begins at Your Library https://nmstatelibrary.org/services-for-new-mexico-libraries/summer-reading/ The New Mexico State Library proudly supports summer reading programs at public libraries throughout the state. Summer Reading Programs help build relationships and community, foster civic partnerships, encourage reading and the use of other library resources, and provide needed out-of-school programming throughout New Mexico. As a member of the Collaborative Summer Library Program, NMSL sponsors public libraries membership to join in this national nonprofit consortium. Public libraries participating in the program can find resources on the CSLP website or may contact our Youth Services Coordinator, Kelly McCabe, at kelly.mccabe@dca.nm.gov

This program is funded with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the State of New Mexico through the New Mexico State Library, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs.

The New Mexico Library Foundation wants to support your NM library project! The 2024 Development Grant cycle is open and the deadline for applications is April 30, 2024.

The New Mexico Library Foundation invites all New Mexico libraries (public, academic, school, special or private) and non-profit groups that directly benefit New Mexico libraries to apply. The Development Grant supports proposals that align with the New Mexico Library Foundation’s mission to build and maintain collections, update information access technology, and enhance library programs. Requests of up to $2000 will be considered. Grants - partnership with Early Childhood opportunities

The Amber Grant $10,000 awards granted to a woman entrepreneur each month. Each month, our judges review all the applications — then select 5 finalists. One of those finalists will be the monthly $10,000 Amber Grant grant winner. The other 4 finalists will each receive $1,000. -------------------------- Awesome Foundation The Awesome Foundation awards grants of $1,000 to individuals and groups looking to fund various projects. Though funding is not limited to businesses, startups and small businesses have been among the recipients of the monthly grants. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. -------------------------- Papaya Grant The Papaya Grant offers $10,000 to support the long-term success of a female-owned small business. U.S.-based female entrepreneurs focusing on their entrepreneurial challenges, brand missions, and grant utilization intentions can apply by March 31. -------------------------- Kitty Fund The Kitty Fund will award a total of $25,000 to 25 small business owners who identify as mothers in 2024. Eligible businesses must be based in the U.S., have annual revenues under $5M, and employ between 2 to 50 people. While applications don’t open until March 2024, those interested can pre-register today.

Explora will be hosting the following virtual workshops for early childhood educators, librarians and out-of-school time providers. Seeds and Soil 2 CEU hours – Come learn how to plant seeds of STEM with your students! You’ll get dirty with soil and dirt, design your own seed through the Engineering Design Process, and determine your ideal seed bomb! Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. Register at Seeds and Soil. STEM in Fairy Tales (2 CEU hours) – How much weight can Rapunzel’s hair hold? How tall is the Giant from Jack in the Beanstalk? Discover the answers as you explore the STEM in your favorite fairy tales. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 3 – 5 p.m. Register at STEM in Fairy Tales. Water Wonders (2 CEU hours) – Bring your own water! We will get our hands wet as we make discoveries about water. Experiment with absorption, adhesion, and surface tension. Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Register at Water Wonders These workshops are all virtual with a kit of materials either picked up or shipped out ahead of time so that the workshop is still hands-on. Dollar General Grant opportunities

SUMMER READING These grants support the creation or expansion of summer reading programs.
