New Mexico State Library Online Hitchhiker

Get involved with REFORMA de Nuevo Mexico, the National Association to Promote Library & Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking.  Membership applications are available on the National REFORMA website or the REFORMA de Nuevo Mexico blogspot.  After five years of inactive status, we are now an active Chapter representing New Mexico as of January 2013!  We invite you to share, on the blog, what libraries are doing for literacy in the diverse New Mexico communities.

Be part of the nationally recognized El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Day of the Child/Day of the Book) and register an event early in order to receive complimentary stickers and bookmarks (while supplies last) that celebrate Día.  Last year, New Mexico registered 29 events, this year let’s triple that number!  Did you know, New Mexico author, Pat Mora proposed the idea to create this international celebration?  Pat Mora has challenged schools and libraries to post 1,000 events nationally – REFORMA de Nuevo Mexico would like to see New Mexico with the most events, please register an event!

Join us at NMLA at the REFORMA SIG Meeting on Friday at 9:30am for a very brief but very productive meeting to help us set the goals!   Make sure you register and event for Día to be entered in a drawing (must be present to win) for some gift cards!  Other surprises, too along with a copy of the Governor’s Proclamation for your celebration.
