Books & Backpacks for Unaccompanied Refugee Children
New Mexico Summer Refugee Quarterly Coordination Meeting (QCM), to be held Wednesday, July 13, from 9:30 a.m. through noon. Tentatively, the meeting will be held at the Albuquerque Museum Auditorium at 2000 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104 (Meeting location should be finalized before the end of the week).
     Quarterly Coordination Meetings are convened with: 1) representatives of local resettlement agencies; 2) state agencies; 3) local government agencies, and 4) local service agencies. The purpose of these meetings is to plan and coordinate the placement of refugees in advance of their arrival. Secondary objectives include: 1) enhance communication among agencies serving refugees; 2) identify gaps and overlaps in services provided to refugees to more effectively use resources; and 3) identify additional funding sources to enhance services provided to refugees.
     The planned agenda is:

1000 – 1015             Refugee Health Program: Karen Gonzales
1015 – 1035             Office of Immigration and Refugee Affairs: Frank Mirabal
1035 – 1045             Break
1045 – 1100             Lutheran Family Services: Kiri Mathsen
1115 – 1130             Catholic Charities: Bea Villegas
1130 – 1140             Highland High School: Rachel White
1140 – 1150             Refugee Mentoring Project: Suha Amer
1150 – 1200             Neighbors United Albuquerque: Larry Buelow
